Year 4
In Year Four, children are exposed to a varied and exciting curriculum, building on their successes from Year Three. The topics in Year 4 are Invaders and Settlers, Ancient Egypt and the comparison between localities. In music, we are also privileged to have sessions with KMS who teach the children how to play the djembe drums.

Sharing our learning
In the Spring term, Year 4 children, along with Year 5, will participate in a Spring concert showcasing their musical talents and collaborative performances. Parents/ carers will be warmly invited to attend and enjoy celebrating the children’s hard work and creativity.
We also invite parents to come in and watch each class perform their musical instrument as part of our collaboration with Kingston Music Service.
There is also an opportunity to come in and see your child's learning in our writing showcase.
How parents can support
In Year Four, children are expected to read at least three times a week and have their reading record signed. These will be checked every Thursday.
There is also the expectation that pupils practise their multiplication facts daily.
Home Learning will be on Google Classroom; it is set on Thursdays and due the following Tuesday. Your child will be expected to complete spellings, punctuation and grammar and maths home learning. Please click here for the Year 3 and 4 spelling list.
